Chemotherapy for Endometrial Cancer
秘密研究所 Langone gynecologic oncologists may prescribe chemotherapy鈥攄rugs that destroy cancer cells鈥攆or women with endometrial cancer that has spread throughout the body after surgery. In some instances, chemotherapy may be used in combination with radiation therapy, an approach called chemoradiation.
Chemotherapy drugs are given through a vein with an intravenous (IV) infusion. Your doctor determines the number of treatments needed based on the stage of the cancer.

Managing Side Effects
Our doctors are careful to prescribe the chemotherapy dose that is most effective and causes the fewest side effects. Still, you may experience nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, mouth sores, hair loss, or neuropathy鈥攏erve damage that can cause numbness, tingling, pain, and weakness. Your doctor can prescribe medication to alleviate these side effects and suggest integrative therapies that may provide additional assistance.
Some chemotherapy drugs trigger menopause in women who still have their ovaries.
