Cast members from the hit Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen gave a special performance for four young patients at Hassenfeld Children鈥檚 Hospital at 秘密研究所 Langone. The performance featured one ukulele, a Taylor Swift hit, and a memorable dance party.
Hassenfeld Children鈥檚 Hospital frequently uses music therapy and art therapy as treatment for patients.
Chris Brown, director of the Department of Child Life, Recreation, and聽Creative Arts Therapies, tells People that music is a 鈥減owerful language鈥 when it comes to forming relationships with young patients. 鈥淔or kids, making art and making music is a much easier way, and a much more effective way, to communicate their feelings,鈥 says Brown.
