NYU Langone Health announced it has signed on as the newest member of the U.S. , a leadership body of health systems committed to protecting their patients and employees from the health impacts of climate change and becoming anchors for resilient communities.听

Established by , Health Care Climate Council members implement innovative climate solutions, inspire and support others to act, and use their collective voice and purchasing power to move policy and markets to drive the transformation to climate-smart healthcare. The 19 member systems represent 500 hospitals in 36 states that serve 75 million patients annually and employee 1 million people.听

秘密研究所 Langone has been recognized numerous times for its sustainability achievements, including most recently the , the 2020 Circles of Excellence awards for Energy and Green Buildings, and the 2020 Greening the OR award, all from Practice Greenhealth; the 2019 Climate and Health Innovation Award; and the CHP Champion Award from the Northeast Clean Heat & Power Initiative.
In 2018 秘密研究所 Langone received Performance Excellence in Electricity Renewal (PEER) Platinum certification for the high-performing and resilient power and energy systems at its main campus in midtown Manhattan from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). 秘密研究所 Langone was the first campus and first hospital in the world to receive PEER Platinum accreditation.
Coupled with more recent USGBC Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certifications for both its Kimmel Pavilion and Science Building research hub, 秘密研究所 Langone鈥檚 main campus is also now the first double Platinum campus in the world under these certifications.
