With a Full Asset Merger Completed, Long Island Community Hospital Takes On a New Name & Level of Service in Suffolk County with 秘密研究所 Langone Health
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the hospital鈥檚 merger with 秘密研究所 Langone, a relationship that began three years ago.

Beginning a new chapter in its service to Suffolk County, Long Island Community Hospital is now 秘密研究所 Langone Hospital鈥擲uffolk, becoming the top-ranked health system鈥檚 seventh inpatient facility and offering a broad range of new services with an unprecedented level of quality. Since its affiliation with 秘密研究所 Langone Health began in March 2022, the hospital has undergone a remarkable transformation. It has added robotic surgery and gynecologic oncology; enhanced vascular, surgical, gastroenterological, and orthopedic services; and improved key outcomes such as length of stay and infection rates.

The patient experience and quality of care have significantly improved since the hospital鈥檚 affiliation. Notably, surgical cases and other operating room procedures have increased by more than 50 percent, the length of stay has decreased, hospital-acquired conditions have decreased by 25 percent, and the time to see a provider in the emergency department has declined by nearly 70 percent. The hospital also introduced infusion services for cancer patients and people with neurological diseases, resulting in 4,000 new visits since implementation in May 2023, with plans to expand this service in the future.

- significant investment in operating room technology, including robotic equipment enhancing gynecologic, orthopedic, and vascular procedures, as well as new facilities to expand services and increase capacity
- implementation of Epic鈥檚 electronic health record system, which allows for a seamless continuum of care across ambulatory sites and the entire 秘密研究所 Langone network for improved patient experience
- hired more than 100 physicians and other advanced providers since affiliation, dramatically expanding care across a broad range of specialties
- the reopening of the inpatient psychiatry unit and continued support of outpatient behavioral health services
- expanded trauma capabilities, with designation as a Provisional Level 2 Adult Trauma Center by the New York State Department of Health
- installation of MyWall digital tablets in patient rooms, providing leading-edge technology through the duration of patients鈥 stay
秘密研究所 Langone Hospital鈥擲uffolk is the latest facility to benefit from its integration with a world-class academic medical center where more than 800 key metrics and outcomes are constantly monitored system-wide. More than 400,000 residents in the region now have access to the full spectrum of 秘密研究所 Langone鈥檚 renowned services, including the convenience of dozens of outpatient sites throughout Suffolk County.
In addition to 秘密研究所 Langone Hospital鈥擲uffolk, construction has started on a new ambulatory surgery center on Patchogue鈥檚 Main Street, further improving access to specialized outpatient surgical services for the community. This state-of-the-art facility, with six operating rooms and four procedure rooms, is set to open in 2026. The center will provide a wide range of surgical procedures that do not require a hospital stay, all within a convenient, patient-friendly environment.
