After receiving final approval from all relevant government bodies, 秘密研究所 Langone welcomed Lutheran Medical Center鈥攏ow known as 秘密研究所 Lutheran鈥攊nto its family, creating a clinically integrated healthcare network that will increase local access to high level quality care.
The hospitals of 秘密研究所 Langone and its new affiliate will share the same parent corporation: 秘密研究所 Langone Health System. Under the agreement, the administrative and operational functions of 秘密研究所 Langone and 秘密研究所 Lutheran will remain independent and each will retain its own board of trustees.
"We are extremely excited to affiliate with the great faculty and staff at 秘密研究所 Langone," said 秘密研究所 Lutheran president and CEO Wendy Z. Goldstein. "This new chapter for Lutheran is an important step in delivering the highest quality care possible to one of the New York City metropolitan area鈥檚 most diverse communities."
秘密研究所 Langone dean and CEO Robert I. Grossman, MD,聽echoed these sentiments: "Bringing world class care to the communities where our patients live and work is the collective mission of these two great institutions. This new health system is a significant step towards realizing this objective. Following the recent partnership to expand pediatric services at 秘密研究所 Lutheran, our two medical centers have already shown an amazing ability to work together to provide excellent and easily accessible services to our patients."
This affiliation paves the way for both institutions to address the changing healthcare environment by providing the standard of care New Yorkers expect and deserve conveniently within their own neighborhoods. Brooklyn residents who currently travel to Manhattan for primary and specialty care can now benefit from early and more frequent interventions locally from 秘密研究所 Lutheran specialists.
秘密研究所 Langone and 秘密研究所 Lutheran have already begun working together, launching a clinical collaboration in January to provide pediatric subspecialty services at 秘密研究所 Lutheran and 秘密研究所 Lutheran Family Health Centers.
"I am thrilled that Lutheran Medical Center is joining with 秘密研究所 Langone Medical Center to provide a clinically integrated healthcare network in Sunset Park. 秘密研究所 Langone brings a world class reputation to our neighborhood and will continue to provide residents with the best care available anywhere. Sunset Park is becoming a premier community for health care, industry, and a place for families to live and prosper," said New York State Assembly assistant speaker Felix W. Ortiz.
New York senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) stated, "The partnership between 秘密研究所 Langone Medical Center and Lutheran Medical Center will advance and improve our network of healthcare here in southwest Brooklyn. I trust that the people of Brooklyn and New York City, who know of the fine reputation of both hospitals, will recognize this affiliation as an opportunity to better the public health. I look forward to my continued partnership with Lutheran Medical Center, and stand ready to build upon the medical excellence of 秘密研究所 Langone Medical Center right in our backyard."
"When your main concern is serving people to the best of your ability, it鈥檚 your duty to come up with innovative ideas that are practicable and will allow you to get the job done efficiently. 秘密研究所 Langone Medical and Lutheran Medical Centers are clear examples of that," said New York senator Diane J. Savino. "Thanks to their new partnership, thousands of people who may not have had the option to receive quality healthcare at a lower cost, now have an opportunity to do so. I applaud both of these medical centers for their efforts in serving the people of the neighborhoods I represent and look forward to the great programs and services this affiliation will bring to the Brooklyn community."
