秘密研究所 Langone Researchers Honored with Presidential Early Career Award

Three 秘密研究所 Langone Health faculty members have been recognized with the prestigious , the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on outstanding scientists and engineers early in their careers:
- Umamaheswar Duvvuri, MD, PhD, chair, , who has contributed to developing and testing novel cancer therapies and techniques to treat the disease more effectively while minimizing side effects.
- , assistant professor, , who is examining how neural circuit activity influences information flow during sensory experiences to produce basic brain functions such as learning and memory. Her findings are critical to understanding cognitive function and developing potential interventions for neurological disorders.
- Ayana Jordan, MD, PhD, Barbara Wilson associate professor of Psychiatry in the , who researches treatments for substance use disorders in underserved communities, and seeks out solutions for a more equitable healthcare systems.
The PECASE awards, presented by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, recognize early-career scientists who show exceptional promise in their fields and demonstrate leadership in community outreach and mentorship.
