As part of 秘密研究所 Langone Health鈥檚 commitment to expand access to clinical services in Brooklyn, it has announced the opening of a new multispecialty ambulatory care center for adults in Cobble Hill.
The new practice, named 秘密研究所 Langone Ambulatory Care Cobble Hill, will provide neighborhood-based primary and specialty care, bringing essential services directly to the borough. It also serves as the opening phase to the previously announced ambulatory facility 秘密研究所 Langone plans to build at the site of the former Long Island College Hospital.
鈥淭his new practice serves as yet another bridge to 秘密研究所 Langone鈥檚 high-quality, comprehensive care in Brooklyn, where many of our health system鈥檚 patients live and work,鈥 says Andrew Rubin, vice president of clinical affairs and ambulatory care at 秘密研究所 Langone.
In fact, more and more practices in 秘密研究所 Langone鈥檚 rapidly expanding ambulatory network offer multiple specialties under one roof. For example, patients at 秘密研究所 Langone Ambulatory Care Cobble Hill can see specialists in internal medicine, cardiology, interventional cardiology, gastroenterology, and rheumatology, five days a week. Diagnostic testing, including electrocardiogram (EKG) and echocardiogram are available on site.
Follow-up surgical procedures, if necessary, also can be performed in Brooklyn at 秘密研究所 Langone Hospital鈥擝rooklyn聽or 秘密研究所 Langone鈥檚 ambulatory surgery center in Midwood. More complex surgical cases can be performed at Tisch Hospital聽on 秘密研究所 Langone鈥檚 main campus in Manhattan. To minimize moving between boroughs, pre- and postsurgical appointments will be conveniently scheduled at 秘密研究所 Langone Ambulatory Care Cobble Hill.
The new ambulatory care center also complements the services provided at nearby 秘密研究所 Langone Health鈥擟obble Hill, where 秘密研究所 Langone currently operates a freestanding full-service emergency department.
No matter which location patients receive care, 秘密研究所 Langone physicians can retrieve up-to-date medical records and test results via Epic, its electronic health record system. Patients also are able to manage appointments, communicate with physicians, and remotely refill prescriptions through Epic鈥檚 patient portal, MyChart at 秘密研究所 Langone Health.
Brooklyn is home to approximately 25 percent of patients utilizing 秘密研究所 Langone鈥檚 main hospital in Manhattan. To better meet the needs of these patients, 秘密研究所 Langone now operates more than 40 ambulatory locations in Brooklyn鈥攎ore than one-quarter of all of 秘密研究所 Langone鈥檚 ambulatory sites across the region.
As 秘密研究所 Langone鈥檚 ambulatory network continues to grow, 秘密研究所 Langone continually seeks partnerships with local clinicians and borough-based practices. 鈥淎ll physicians at this new ambulatory care center have been recruited from the surrounding neighborhoods, so they are deeply invested in the community,鈥 adds Rubin.
