As chair of the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine at �����о��� Langone Health, I am dedicated to leading our patient care, education, and research programs. I grew up in Central Connecticut, the son of Italian immigrant schoolteachers. I was convinced I was headed towards a career in athletics until high school when I took a job in my hometown hospital’s Emergency Department. From that moment, I aspired to become an emergency medicine physician committed to helping those with life threatening emergencies.

In my role as chair, I am privileged to work alongside a dedicated team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, educators, and researchers to consistently deliver exceptional care and treat all with kindness, dignity, and respect. Together, we strive to improve health outcomes, train the next generation of leaders, and conduct transformational research.

Our team strives to share best practices broadly, collaborating with colleagues nationally and internationally to innovate and continually improve emergency care. We leverage emergency department visits as a pivotal opportunity to impact population health, implementing preventative screenings and community-based programs. I am proud to lead a department committed to caring for patients during their most difficult moments and lead by a few simple ideals: “Everyone Matters,” “Find Solutions, No Excuses,” and “Be Kind.”
