About Me
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a passion for helping people to feel seen, heard, and gain the confidence necessary to make changes or ask questions that will improve their quality of life and relationships. I believe that everyone has the right to a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore their thoughts, patterns of behavior, relationships and emotional experiences. For many people, therapy can be that space.
I work with a wide range of diagnoses and patient presentations including trauma-related disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, substance use disorders and addiction, relationship problems and difficulty with interpersonal functioning, and neurocognitive disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I work with people on a one-to-one basis, and I also see couples. I have received specialized training in treatments for PTSD: I鈥檓 a certified provider for cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure therapy (PE). I also have extensive training in emotion-focused therapy (EFT) for couples. I enjoy working with veterans, individuals across the lifespan, people who identify as part of the LGTBQIA+ community and others who hold aspects of their identity that are historically marginalized. Understanding and talking about intersectionality is important to me. In my practice, I work closely with other providers in the 秘密研究所 Langone system, often referring patients and consulting with psychiatrists and neuropsychologists.
In addition to seeing patients through Faculty Group Practice, I also work in the Military Family Center (MFC) at 秘密研究所 Langone Health, which is a pro-bono mental health clinic for military personnel, veterans, and their families. At the MFC, I provide short-term psychotherapy to individuals and couples, as well as contribute to training the next generation of psychologists through supervising externs and postdoctoral fellows, as well as providing consultation and didactic training.
Academically, I have an expertise in intimate partner violence (IPV), sexual violence and provider burn-out and self-care. I have presented on these topics in several contexts including within the 秘密研究所 Grossman School of Medicine medical residency training.
